It was another dry day today so I managed another bike ride! It’s such a great area for getting out and about. Here are a few pics from today’s outing.

Today I finally finished something that has been “finished” for over a month. This Felix cardigan was completed at the end of August – all but the buttons. It didn’t take long to knit because it was an aran weight project and it was great while I was laid up on the lounge for a couple of weeks.

For this project, I used Heirloom Merino Magic, a DK weight yarn, held together with some Indiecita Baby Suri Silk. The silk is somewhere between a lace weight and light fingering weight. It has turned out so beautiful and soft. I have not yet had a chance to wear it though as it’s probably a bit too cosy for this time of year. Especially worn inside. I love knitting patterns from the top down and in the round. It makes it really easy to try on as I’m knitting.

I purchased the buttons at Spotlight, about the only place around here to get buttons, and there wasn’t a great deal of choice. I think these ones go well enough. The first photo below shows how I mark the button placing through the buttonholes. Then I open up the cardigan and the little lightbulb pins are where they need to be.

I’m off to bookclub now and I actually have this cardigan on. I’m taking a light one with me just in case I get too hot in this but I just had to wear it! See you tomorrow. 😊
